Description
Description
PROCLAIM® Insecticide 600g is a Syngenta Group 6 insecticide formulated for targeted control of key caterpillar pests in selected vegetable and grape crops. It contains 44 g/kg emamectin, present as emamectin benzoate, and is supplied as a water-soluble granule formulation.
PROCLAIM is registered for control of Diamondback Moth (Cabbage Moth) and Cabbage White Butterfly in brassica vegetables, Lightbrown Apple Moth and Grapevine Moth in grapes, and Heliothis (Helicoverpa) in capsicum, lettuce, sweet corn and tomatoes.
Suitable for professional crop protection programs across Australia, PROCLAIM provides growers with a specialised insecticide option for managing damaging Lepidopteran larvae.
What It Does
PROCLAIM targets feeding caterpillar larvae that can damage foliage, fruit and developing crops. Emamectin has translaminar activity, allowing the active ingredient to move through treated leaf tissue where feeding larvae can encounter it. Ingestion is an important route of activity, with affected larvae becoming paralysed and stopping further feeding damage.
The product should be applied at the early stages of pest infestation and according to local pest thresholds and the registered product label.
Active Ingredient & Mode of Action
-
Active constituent: 44 g/kg emamectin
-
Active form: Emamectin present as emamectin benzoate
-
Insecticide group: Group 6
-
Formulation: Water-soluble granules
-
Primary activity: Control of susceptible caterpillar larvae
-
Mode of action: Acts on the insect nervous system, resulting in paralysis and cessation of feeding
-
Resistance management: Rotate with insecticides from different mode-of-action groups as part of an appropriate resistance management program
The current Syngenta classification lists PROCLAIM as a Group 6 insecticide.
Target Pests
PROCLAIM Insecticide is labelled for control of:
-
Diamondback Moth / Cabbage Moth (Plutella xylostella)
-
Cabbage White Butterfly (Pieris rapae)
-
Heliothis / Helicoverpa (Helicoverpa armigera and H. punctigera)
-
Lightbrown Apple Moth
-
Grapevine Moth
Registered crops include brassica vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower, along with capsicum, lettuce, grapes, sweet corn and tomatoes.
PROCLAIM Insecticide Dosage & Application
Always use PROCLAIM according to the registered product label. Label rates vary by crop and pest pressure:
-
Brassica vegetables: 250–300 g/ha
-
Capsicum and lettuce: 150–250 g/ha
-
Grapes: 15 g per 100 L for dilute spraying
-
Sweet corn: 150–250 g/ha
-
Tomatoes: 150–250 g/ha
-
Trellised tomatoes – dilute spraying: 15–25 g per 100 L
For brassicas, apply in a minimum of 400 L water/ha. For grapes, use a minimum of 250 L water/ha. Thorough crop coverage is important because PROCLAIM is not systemic.
PROCLAIM Insecticide Dose Per Litre
Where the label specifies a dilute rate:
-
15 g/100 L = approximately 0.15 g per litre
-
25 g/100 L = approximately 0.25 g per litre
These per-litre equivalents only apply where the registered label specifies a g/100 L dilute-spray rate. Other crops are treated using a rate per hectare, so the correct crop-specific label directions must be followed.
How to Use PROCLAIM Insecticide
Add the required quantity of PROCLAIM to a partly filled spray tank, then add the remaining water while mixing. Apply using correctly calibrated equipment to achieve thorough and even coverage of the target crop.
For best results, treatments should generally target early infestations and small larvae. The label specifies crop-specific application limits and resistance-management requirements, so avoid exceeding the permitted number of applications.
Withholding Periods
According to the registered PROCLAIM label:
-
Brassica vegetables: 3 days
-
Capsicum: 3 days
-
Lettuce: 3 days
-
Tomatoes: 3 days
-
Sweet corn: 3 days
-
Grapes: 8 weeks
Additional grazing and stock-feed restrictions apply to treated crops and should be followed exactly as stated on the product label.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the active ingredient in PROCLAIM Insecticide?
PROCLAIM contains 44 g/kg emamectin, present as emamectin benzoate. It belongs to the Group 6 insecticide category.
What pests does PROCLAIM Insecticide target?
Its registered target pests include Diamondback Moth, Cabbage White Butterfly, Heliothis, Lightbrown Apple Moth and Grapevine Moth in specified crops.
What is the PROCLAIM Insecticide dosage?
Dosage depends on the crop. Label rates include 250–300 g/ha for brassica vegetables, 150–250 g/ha for several Heliothis applications and specific dilute rates for grapes and trellised tomatoes. Always match the rate to the crop and pest listed on the label.
What is the PROCLAIM Insecticide dose per litre?
For applications where the label specifies 15 g/100 L, this equals approximately 0.15 g/L. A 15–25 g/100 L dilute rate corresponds to approximately 0.15–0.25 g/L. These rates should not be substituted for crop applications specified in g/ha.
How does PROCLAIM Insecticide work?
Its emamectin active ingredient acts on susceptible insects' nervous systems. Feeding larvae become paralysed and stop feeding, while translaminar movement helps place active ingredient within treated leaf tissue.
Where can I find the PROCLAIM Insecticide 600g price and label?
The current PROCLAIM Insecticide 600g price is displayed on the Bonnyrigg Produce & Garden Supplies product page. The registered Australian label should be read before application so the correct crop, pest, rate, withholding period and safety directions are followed.
