AzaMax Organic Insecticide 5L – Neem Insect Growth Regulator for Mites, Aphids, Whitefly and Fungus Gnats

AzaMax Organic Insecticide Made from Neem

AzaMax is a registered organic insecticide made from a concentrated extract of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica), supplied in a 5L bulk size for nurseries, commercial growers and larger operations. It contains 11.82g/L azadirachtin A and B, present as 29.55g/L neem extract. As a natural insecticide, it works differently to conventional knockdown sprays. Rather than poisoning insects on contact, affected insects stop feeding, stop moulting and lose interest in mating and egg-laying, so the pest population winds down over repeat applications. It is made by Organic Crop Protectants and is a registered organic input, so certified organic ornamental growers can use it.

How an Insect Growth Regulator Controls Pests

AzaMax is a Group UN insecticide that acts as an insect growth regulator and anti-feedant. The azadirachtin interferes with the hormones insects need to moult and develop, so immature stages cannot grow into breeding adults, while treated insects quickly stop feeding. Because insects need to feed on treated surfaces to be affected, its impact on beneficial insects is minor. It stays active in the crop for up to around 14 days after spraying, which makes it a strong preventative option rather than a fast knockdown.

Insecticide for Aphids, Mites, Whitefly and Fungus Gnats

AzaMax is registered as an insecticide for aphids, two-spotted mites and whitefly in floriculture and ornamentals, and for fungus gnats in potting soil. Growers often use AzaMax for aphids and mites on roses, cut flowers and nursery stock, where these pests multiply quickly in warm weather. Applied consistently while pests are active, it steadily reduces their numbers.

What AzaMax Is Registered For

It is important to know the limits of the Australian label. AzaMax is registered for ornamental plants, flowers and potting soil only. The label carries a restraint that it must not be used on plants that produce food for humans or animals, so it is not for fruit, vegetables, herbs or other edible crops. Always use it in line with the registered label.

Natural Pest Control That Fits IPM

As a form of natural pest control, AzaMax suits integrated pest management (IPM) programs in nurseries, greenhouses, flower farms and ornamental gardens. It targets plant-feeding pests while having minor impact on beneficial insects, so it can be used alongside predatory mites and other biological controls. For gardeners and growers looking for organic pest control for garden ornamentals, the 5L size is the economical choice for treating large areas regularly.

How to Use

Dilute AzaMax with water at the rate on the product label for your pest, then spray as a natural insecticide spray to give thorough, even coverage of the plant, including the undersides of leaves where mites and whitefly shelter. For fungus gnats, apply to the potting soil as directed on the label. Because it is not a fast knockdown, consistent repeat applications during pest activity are needed, and it works best used preventatively before pest numbers build. Many growers tank-mix the lower AzaMax rate with a horticultural oil such as Eco-Oil to improve results. Always read and follow the label.

Safety and Responsible Use

• Read the label and safety directions before opening or using, and keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use on food plants. The label restrains use on any plant that produces food for humans or animals.
• Protect waterways. AzaMax is dangerous to aquatic invertebrates. Do not contaminate streams, rivers, dams or drains with the product or used containers.
• Handle with care. Avoid breathing spray mist, as it is harmful if swallowed. Wear suitable protection when mixing and spraying.
• Store and dispose of it responsibly as directed on the label.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AzaMax used for?
AzaMax is used to control two-spotted mites, aphids and whitefly in floriculture and ornamentals, and fungus gnats in potting soil. It works as a natural insecticide for plants grown for flowers and foliage.
