Ambush Insecticide Active Ingredient
Ambush contains:
-
Active constituent: 500 g/L Permethrin
-
Permethrin ratio: 40:60 cis:trans
-
Formulation: Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC)
-
Insecticide group: Group 3A
-
Pack size: 1L
Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. Ambush is classified as a Group 3A insecticide for resistance management purposes.
Ambush Insecticide Mixing Ratio & Dosage
There is no single Ambush Insecticide mixing ratio for every application. The correct dosage depends on the crop, pest, application method and spray volume listed on the registered label.
Examples of Ambush 1L dosage rates include:
-
Citrus Leaf Miner: 10 mL per 100 L water for dilute spraying
-
Brassica crops: 100 mL in 600–1000 L water for Cabbage Moth and Cabbage White Butterfly
-
Lettuce: 10–20 mL per 100 L water
-
Potatoes: 150–200 mL/ha, depending on application method
-
Sweet corn: 100–200 mL/ha for ground application
-
Tomatoes: 100–200 mL/ha or 15–20 mL per 100 L for specified high-volume applications
-
Wheat, oats and barley: 100–200 mL/ha for selected armyworms
-
Ornamentals: 10–20 mL per 100 L for specified high-volume applications
Application rates vary substantially between crops, so the Ambush insecticide label should be followed for the specific crop and target pest.
How to Use Ambush Insecticide
Measure the required quantity of Ambush according to the crop and pest directions on the product label.
For mixing:
-
Add the required amount of Ambush to water while the spray tank is under agitation.
-
Continue agitation while spraying.
-
Apply with correctly calibrated equipment.
-
Aim for thorough and even crop coverage.
-
Use the crop-specific water volume and application rate stated on the label.
Ambush mixes readily with both hard and soft water.
For citrus concentrate spraying, the label requires the concentrate rate to be calculated from the equivalent dilute spray volume rather than applying a universal concentration.
Ambush Insecticide Withholding Periods
Withholding periods depend on the treated crop.
Registered harvest withholding periods include:
-
Celery: 1 day
-
Cole crops: 2 days
-
Field peas: 2 days
-
Lettuce: 2 days
-
Potatoes: 2 days
-
Sweet corn: 2 days
-
Tobacco: 2 days
-
Tomatoes: 2 days
-
Green beans: 3 days
-
Green peas: 3 days
-
Wheat, oats and barley: 3 days
-
Linseed: 7 days
Always observe the withholding period relevant to the crop being treated.
Resistance Management
Ambush is a Group 3A insecticide. Repeated use of insecticides from the same mode-of-action group can increase resistance pressure in insect populations.
Where resistance management is required, rotate Ambush with suitable insecticides from different mode-of-action groups and follow relevant crop resistance management strategies.
