As an indication, knapsack rates for tough woody weeds sit in the range of roughly 65 mL to 190 mL per 15 L of water depending on species and bush size, while handgun and boom rates are set out separately. Some species also call for an added wetter such as Pulse at 200 to 500 mL per 100 L, gorse and eucalypts among them.

For best results, spray weeds that are actively growing and not stressed by drought or frost, and use a coarse to very coarse spray quality to reduce drift. Don't disturb treated weeds, by cultivation, sowing or grazing, for at least six daylight hours for annual weeds or seven days for perennial weeds, so the herbicide can translocate fully.
