Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a natural, non-toxic powder that is made from the fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of algae. DE has a number of uses, including:

• Insecticide: DE can be used to kill insects by cutting their exoskeletons. It is effective against a wide variety of insects, including cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, and spiders.
• Acaricide: DE can also be used to kill mites, such as scabies mites and dust mites.
• Flea and tick control: DE can be sprinkled on carpets and furniture to help control fleas and ticks. It can also be added to pet bedding to help prevent fleas and ticks from biting your pets.
• Pest control: DE can be used to control a variety of other pests, such as slugs, snails, and millipedes.
• Fungicide: DE can be used to control fungal growth. It is often used to control mold and mildew.
