Total Weed Control for Paths & Driveways
Yates Path Weeder Concentrate is a total weed control solution for paths, driveways, car parks and bare soil areas. It does two jobs in one: a systemic herbicide kills the weeds and grasses that are already there, and a long-lasting residual herbicide stops most new weeds germinating for up to 12 months. The 1 litre concentrate treats around 75m² and is diluted with water before spraying.
Actives & How It Works
It contains three actives: glyphosate at 25.6g/L, oxyfluorfen at 25.6g/L and diflufenican at 1.5g/L. The glyphosate is systemic, so it's taken up by actively growing weeds and moves through the plant to kill it, roots and all, rather than just burning the leaf. The oxyfluorfen and diflufenican are residual herbicides that stay in the topsoil and stop new weed seeds establishing, which is what gives the up-to-12-month prevention. It's a non-staining formulation, so it won't stain paths or pavers.
What It Controls & Where
It controls many broadleaf weeds and grasses, including couch, kikuyu, oxalis, paspalum, dandelion, nutgrass, thistles and clover. Use it on paths, driveways, car parks, tennis courts and bare soil areas where you don't plan to grow anything for at least 12 months. Because the residual action stops things growing, don't use it in garden beds or anywhere you want plants to grow.
How to Use
Shake well before use, then dilute and spray. As a general guide from the Yates label, mix 200ml in 8 to 9L of water in a watering can, or 200ml per 1L of water in a pressure or trigger sprayer, applied evenly over about 15m². Apply over the whole area you want cleared, while existing weeds are actively growing, spraying the leaves and the surrounding surface. Don't apply if rain is expected within 24 hours, and lightly water the treated area about 12 hours after applying to move the residual herbicides into the soil. Visible symptoms show within about 7 days, with weeds dying off over 2 to 3 weeks. Wash the watering can or sprayer thoroughly after use.
Safety & Handling
This is a herbicide, marked Caution, and is harmful if swallowed. Wear gloves and avoid contact with skin and eyes, and wash your hands after use. Do not let the spray drift onto plants, lawns or garden beds you want to keep, as it will damage or kill them. Keep it away from drains and waterways, and out of reach of children. Always read the full label and safety directions before use.
