Description

Tomcat Rat Bait Station: Low Profile, Lockable and Tamper-Resistant

The Tomcat Low Profile Bait Station is a triangular, tamper-resistant rodent bait station that fits tightly into corners, along walls and under low-clearance spots such as pallets. It holds 3 to 4 bait blocks on internal baiting rods, locks automatically when closed, and opens only with a special key. Made by Bell Laboratories in the USA and supplied in Australia by Barmac, it's a reusable rat and mouse bait station for homes, sheds, farms, warehouses and commercial buildings. The station comes empty, and bait blocks are sold separately.

Triangular Shape for Corners and Walls

Rats and mice travel along walls and into corners rather than across open floors. The triangular design lets this rat station sit flush in a corner or tight against a wall, right on the path rodents already use. Its low profile slides under pallets, shelving, machinery and other objects where a taller box won't fit, so you can bait the hidden spots where rodents feel safe.

Interior Baffles Lead Rodents to the Bait

Inside the station, baffles guide rats and mice from the entry holes straight to the feeding area. The design gives rodents a dark, enclosed space to feed, which they prefer, while the baffles keep curious paws and fingers from reaching the bait through the openings.

Lockable Station With Baiting Rods

The lid locks as soon as it's closed and can only be opened with the special two-prong key, keeping bait away from children, pets, poultry, livestock and other non-target animals. Integrated baiting rods hold the blocks in place, so rodents can't drag bait out of the station and leave it somewhere unsafe.

Which Bait Goes in a Tomcat Bait Station?

The station is designed for block baits with a centre hole that slide onto the baiting rods, such as Tomcat All-Weather Blox. Follow the bait label for how many blocks to use. As a guide, many block baits list 1 to 2 blocks per placement for mice and more for rats.

How to Use a Rat Bait Station

  • Place the station flush against a wall or in a corner, with the entry holes along the rodents' path.
  • Choose spots with signs of activity: droppings, gnaw marks, grease marks or burrows.
  • Wearing gloves, slide bait blocks onto the rods, following the bait label.
  • Close the lid until it locks. Keep the key stored away from children.
  • Space stations according to the bait label, commonly no more than 3m apart for mice and 9m for rats.
  • Check stations regularly and replace eaten bait until it's left untouched.
  • Record where each station is placed so none are missed during checks or removal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Tomcat Low Profile Bait Station?

It's a triangular, tamper-resistant bait box for rats and mice that fits into corners, along walls and under low spots like pallets. It locks with a key and holds 3 to 4 bait blocks on internal rods.

How do you open the Tomcat Low Profile Bait Station?

Insert the special key into the lock slots and lift the lid. The station locks again automatically when you close it.

Do bait stations work for rats?

Yes. Bait stations work well when placed on rat runways near signs of activity and kept stocked until bait is no longer eaten. Rats are wary of new objects, so it can take a few days before they start feeding.

Will bait stations get rid of rats?

Used correctly, they can bring a rat problem under control. Use enough stations for the area, keep them baited, and remove food sources and nesting spots at the same time for the best result.

What is the most effective bait for rats?

Single-feed anticoagulant block baits, such as those containing bromadiolone or brodifacoum, are among the most effective for rats. Blocks with a centre hole suit stations with baiting rods like this one.

What is the best rat bait station?

Look for a station that locks with a key, holds bait on rods so it can't be carried out, fits where rodents travel, and suits both indoor and outdoor use. A low profile design helps when you need to bait under pallets, shelving or equipment.

Does it come with bait?

No. The station is sold empty. Use registered rodent bait blocks and follow the bait label directions.
