Yates Anti Rot 500ml: Phosacid Systemic Fungicide for Rot and Mildew
Yates Anti Rot is a systemic fungicide that controls phytophthora root rot and collar rot in citrus, avocados and ornamentals, and downy mildew in grapes. The active constituent is 200g/L phosphorous acid (present as mono-di potassium phosphite), supplied as a 500ml concentrate with an easy-to-use measure bottle and a child-resistant cap. It's the same phosphorous acid chemistry relied on by commercial growers, in a home-garden pack.
Being systemic, Anti Rot is absorbed through the foliage and travels down through the plant to the roots, so it reaches phytophthora where it does its damage below ground rather than just sitting on the leaf surface. As well as acting directly on the disease, phosphorous acid works by boosting the plant's own natural defences, which is why it's most effective applied as a protective spray before disease takes hold rather than only as a rescue treatment. There's also no withholding period, so it suits use on productive citrus, avocados and grapes.

Getting the Best Results
Anti Rot gives the most effective control when used as a protective spray, applied before disease pressure builds, with thorough coverage of the leaves so the plant takes it up well. It's a concentrate, so mix it with water at the rate on the label for your plant and situation, shake well before use, and spray to cover the foliage properly. A couple of timing points from the label matter for both safety to the plant and results: don't spray when shade temperatures are above 35°C, and don't spray when the soil is dry and plants are moisture-stressed, as stressed foliage is more easily damaged.
Safety and Handling
Yates Anti Rot is a low-hazard garden fungicide but should still be handled with normal care. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and wear suitable gloves when mixing and spraying. Importantly, do not allow the chemical, containers or spray to get into drains, sewers, streams or ponds. Keep it in the closed original container with the child-resistant cap engaged, out of reach of children, and away from food and feed. Always read and follow the label.
