Yates Aquasol Soluble Plant Food 25kg: Fast-Acting Water Soluble NPK Fertiliser 23-3.95-14

Aquasol Soluble Plant Food: A Fast-Acting Water Soluble Fertiliser

Yates Aquasol is a fast-acting, general-purpose soluble plant food that dissolves in water and feeds plants through both their roots and their foliage. It has an NPK analysis of 23 : 3.95 : 14 plus trace elements, making it a balanced plant fertiliser for vegetables, flowers, seedlings, fruit trees, shrubs, orchids, indoor plants and lawns. The 25kg bag suits nurseries, market gardens and large home gardens, and smaller 1kg, 2kg and 4kg packs are also available.

What's in Aquasol?

• Nitrogen (23%): for strong, green leaf and shoot growth
• Phosphorus (3.95%): for roots and early growth
• Potassium (14%): for flowering, fruiting and overall plant strength
• Trace elements: sulfur, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc, iron, boron and molybdenum

The high nitrogen gives a quick green-up, while the high potassium supports flowers and fruit, so one NPK fertiliser covers most plants through the season.

How Does Water Soluble Fertiliser Work?

A water soluble fertiliser dissolves completely, so the nutrients are ready for plants to use as soon as they reach the roots or leaves. That's why results show quickly, often within days. The trade-off is that soluble nutrients don't last long in the soil, so plants need feeding regularly through the growing season. Many gardeners pair a soluble feed like Aquasol with organic matter or a slow release fertiliser for steady background nutrition.

How to Use Aquasol

• Most plants (vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, indoor plants): dissolve 16g in 10 litres of water.
• Seedlings, orchids and ferns: dissolve 8g in 10 litres of water.
• Lawns and around shrubs: dissolve 32g in 10 litres of water and apply over about 5 square metres.

Water onto the root zone with a watering can, or spray onto the foliage. Feed regularly through the growing season, and don't exceed the rates, as more fertiliser can burn roots and leaves.

When Not to Apply

• When the temperature is expected to rise above 30°C
• When the soil is dry or plants are moisture stressed (water first, then feed)
• On phosphorus-sensitive plants, such as many Australian natives
• If you use Aquasol through an irrigation system, flush the lines with clean water after each application.

Before switching your plants to a new fertiliser, trial it on a small area first.

Fertiliser for Vegetables, Flowers and Fruit Trees

• Vegetables: a regular feed keeps leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs growing fast through spring and summer.
• Flowers and seedlings: the lighter rate gives young plants a gentle, quick start after transplanting.
• Fruit trees: feed around the drip line during active growth to support new leaves and fruit set.

Is Aquasol Good for Lawns?

Aquasol gives lawns a quick green-up, especially small lawns, new turf and patchy areas. For large lawns, a granular lawn fertiliser is usually more practical for regular feeding, with Aquasol used as a fast boost when the lawn looks pale.

Storage

Keep the bag sealed in a cool, dry place, as Aquasol absorbs moisture from the air and can cake. Keep out of reach of children and pets. The 25kg bag is heavy, so lift with care.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yates Aquasol Soluble Plant Food?

Aquasol is a fast-acting, general-purpose soluble plant food that dissolves in water and feeds plants through their roots and leaves. It has an NPK of 23 : 3.95 : 14 plus trace elements.

How do you use Aquasol fertiliser?

Dissolve 16g in 10 litres for most plants, 8g in 10 litres for seedlings, orchids and ferns, or 32g in 10 litres over 5 square metres for lawns and shrubs. Apply to the roots or as a foliar spray.

What is water soluble fertiliser?

It's a fertiliser that dissolves completely in water, so nutrients are available to plants straight away through the roots or leaves.

How does soluble fertiliser work?

The dissolved nutrients are absorbed quickly, so plants respond within days. Because they don't stay in the soil long, soluble fertilisers are applied regularly during the growing season.

Is water soluble fertiliser good for vegetables?

Yes. A regular soluble feed keeps vegetables growing fast, especially leafy greens and fruiting crops in spring and summer. Combine it with compost or manure for long-term soil health.

What is the best water soluble fertiliser?

Look for a balanced NPK with trace elements that dissolves fully and suits most plants. Aquasol's 23-3.95-14 analysis with trace elements covers vegetables, flowers, fruit trees and lawns, but avoid it on phosphorus-sensitive natives.

Is Aquasol safe for Australian native plants?

Not for phosphorus-sensitive natives, such as many grevilleas, banksias and other Proteaceae. Use a low-phosphorus native fertiliser for those plants.
