A Handy 125mL In-Water Roundworm Wormer
Inca Piperazine Solution is an economical in-water wormer for controlling roundworm in poultry, pigeons and pigs. Added straight to the drinking water, it lets you worm a whole flock, loft or group in one go rather than dosing each animal by hand. It is a long-trusted, straightforward choice for backyard keepers and hobby farmers, and this 125mL bottle is a compact size, well suited to smaller flocks, a pigeon loft or occasional worming.
What It Treats
The active constituent is piperazine anhydrous at 172.5 g/L. It treats roundworm (Ascaridia galli) in poultry and roundworm (Ascaridia columbae) in pigeons, and in pigs it treats roundworm (Ascaris suum) and nodule worm (Oesophagostomum spp). Piperazine works by paralysing the worms so the animal passes them out naturally.
Nil Egg and Meat Withholding Period
For anyone keeping birds for eggs or the table, a real plus is the nil withholding period for both eggs and meat, so eggs can still be collected and eaten during and after treatment. Since piperazine clears the worms present at the time rather than eggs still to hatch, a repeat treatment is important to catch the maturing worms.
Easy Whole-Group Dosing
Because it goes into the drinking water, you can treat the whole group at once, and it can also be mixed into wet mash or, for pigs, given by individual drenching. Withholding water overnight beforehand helps, as thirsty animals drink the medicated water readily for more reliable dosing across the group.
Dosage
Poultry (per 100 birds):
- Under 7 weeks: 40mL in 2L water
- 7 to 8 weeks: 50mL in 2L water
- 9 to 12 weeks: 60mL in 5L water
- 13 to 16 weeks: 60mL in 7L water
- 17 to 20 weeks: 70mL in 9L water
- Over 20 weeks: 90mL in 11L water
Pigeons:
- 0.5mL per 40mL of water, per pigeon
Pigs:
- 4mL per 5kg bodyweight, added to the morning drinking water or wet mash
How to Use
Withhold water overnight before treatment so the animals are thirsty and drink the medicated water readily. Provide the medicated water according to the number of animals, and do not offer plain water until the medicated water has been consumed. Once it is finished, provide fresh plain water for the rest of the day. It can also be mixed into wet mash, or given to pigs by individual drenching. Repeat after 6 weeks for birds, and at 1 to 2 month intervals for pigs, to catch maturing worms. Always read and follow the label directions before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Inca Piperazine Solution treat?
It treats roundworm in poultry (Ascaridia galli) and pigeons (Ascaridia columbae), and roundworm (Ascaris suum) plus nodule worm (Oesophagostomum spp) in pigs.
What is the poultry dose?
It is based on age, per 100 birds: for example, 40mL in 2L water for birds under 7 weeks, up to 90mL in 11L water for birds over 20 weeks. Provide the medicated water according to the number of birds and repeat after 6 weeks.
What is the dose for pigeons and pigs?
Pigeons: 0.5mL per 40mL of water per bird. Pigs: 4mL per 5kg bodyweight in the morning drinking water or mash. Repeat as directed.
Is there a withholding period for eggs or meat?
No. There is a nil withholding period for both eggs and meat, so they can be used during and after treatment.
Why do I need to worm again after the first treatment?
Piperazine clears the worms present at the time but not the eggs still to hatch, so a repeat treatment (after 6 weeks for birds) catches the maturing worms.
Where can I buy Inca Piperazine Solution in Australia?
It is available online from BPG Supplies, with shipping across Australia and local pickup in Bonnyrigg, NSW.
