Check instruction on the weed killer product to determine when weed mat can be applied Spread the weed mat over the area and allow 5cm overlapping if more than one piece is used Cover the material with a minimum 50mm of mulch, bark etc to keep off sunlight to avoid the material breaking down and minimize weed growth cut an opening to accommodate new and existing plantings
