Description
Description
Rally Shadecloth Fasteners for Timber (Pack of 50)
Rally Shadecloth Fasteners are metal clips designed to secure shade cloth firmly to timber frames, posts and rafters. Each fastener has pre-punched nails that hammer straight through the cloth into the timber, gripping the fabric flat against the wood so it stays tight, tidy and in place. Supplied in a pack of 50, one pack is enough to fix out a typical pergola, fence run or garden frame.
The real advantage of these fasteners is a clean, tear-free hold. Rather than pinching or bunching the fabric like some fixings, they hold the cloth evenly against the timber, which stops the edges tearing on sharp corners over time. That makes them a reliable, permanent solution compared with cable ties or temporary clips that let go in wind and weather.
They work with any standard knitted shade cloth and are a favourite for pergolas, shade houses, ferneries, greenhouses, nurseries, garden structures and fence lines. Each fastener measures around 5cm long by 1.5cm wide, and depending on stock they come in green, beige or zinc-coated finishes to blend in with your cloth and timber.

Where to Use Them
Rally Shadecloth Fasteners suit any job where shade cloth is fixed to timber, including pergolas, patios, verandahs, shade houses, ferneries, greenhouses, nurseries, garden and veggie frames, and timber fence lines. Because they fix directly to timber, they are best suited to softwood timber frames rather than metal posts, for which cable ties or clips are more appropriate.
How to Install
Position the shade cloth over your timber frame, leaving an even overhang where the cloth overlaps the timber. Apply light tension to keep the cloth straight and taut, then place a fastener on the cloth over the timber and drive it home with a hammer, ideally tapping each end of the fastener down evenly so the nails go in straight without bending. Space fasteners roughly every 300 to 600mm along each beam or post, keeping them in a little from the very edge of the fabric so it doesn't pull through. Fix one long edge first, then work around the frame, doing intermediate supports last.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many fasteners come in a pack?
Each pack contains 50 fasteners, enough for a typical pergola, frame or fence run.
How do they attach?
They have pre-punched nails, so you simply place them over the shade cloth on the timber and hammer them in.
What do I fix them to?
They are made for timber frames, posts and rafters, and work best on softwood. For metal frames, cable ties or clips are more suitable.
Will they tear the shade cloth?
No. They are designed to hold the cloth flat against the timber, which actually helps prevent the edges tearing over time.
How far apart should I space them?
Around every 300 to 600mm along each beam or post, set in slightly from the edge of the fabric.
Where can I buy Rally Shadecloth Fasteners in Australia?
You can buy them from BPG Supplies (Bonnyrigg Produce & Garden Supplies) in Bonnyrigg NSW, with local pickup available and delivery Australia-wide.
