Rally Bird Netting White 10m x 10m: 15mm Diamond Mesh Anti-Bird Net
Rally Bird Netting is a physical barrier net used to stop birds accessing, landing, perching or nesting in areas where they're a problem. This is the white version, measuring 10m x 10m with a 15x15mm diamond mesh at 30gsm, giving 100 square metres of cover. Rather than deterring birds with noise, spikes or chemicals, netting simply blocks them out, which makes it one of the most reliable and long-lasting ways to bird-proof a crop or structure.
It works for two main situations. In the garden and on the land, it protects fruit trees, grapevines, orchards, vegetables and seedlings from birds. Around buildings, it keeps pest birds like pigeons, Indian mynas, sparrows and starlings out of roofs, awnings, carparks, warehouses and loading areas. Because it's a drape-over net, it can go over a permanent frame or be thrown over a tree or bed and reused season to season.
Why Netting Works
-
A physical barrier birds can't get through, so results are immediate and long-lasting
-
Humane, it excludes birds rather than harming them, unlike baiting or shooting
-
Often more cost-effective than spiking every roosting point or using short-term deterrents
-
White mesh is a practical, easy-to-see option, and netting is generally discreet on structures
-
Reusable, as a permanent cover or a seasonal drape-over

A Note on Mesh Size and Wildlife
This netting has a 15mm diamond mesh, which is aimed at keeping birds off crops and structures. Where wildlife such as flying foxes and reptiles may be present, be aware that finer netting (a mesh you can't poke a finger through, around 5mm) is recommended as the wildlife-safe option, and in some areas it may be required for backyard fruit netting. To reduce the risk of anything getting tangled, install this net pulled taut over a frame rather than left loose and draping, secure it well at the base, and check it regularly. For fully wildlife-safe fruit protection, a fine 5mm knitted net is the better choice.
How to Install It
For the best result, hold the net out on a frame or over stakes rather than resting it directly on foliage, and pull it taut so there are no loose folds. Secure it right down to the ground or the base of the structure so birds can't get underneath, and join or overlap sections where you need to cover a larger area. Pulling it tight also makes it far safer for any wildlife and easier to remove and reuse. Take it down and store it once the crop is picked so it lasts for future seasons.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size is this net?
It's 10m x 10m with a 15x15mm diamond mesh, giving 100 square metres of cover. Other sizes can be special ordered.
What does bird netting protect against?
It keeps birds off fruit trees, grapevines, orchards, vegetables and seedlings, and keeps pest birds like pigeons, mynas, sparrows and starlings out of buildings and structures.
Is it humane?
Yes. It's a physical barrier that keeps birds out without harming them, unlike baiting or shooting.
Is 15mm mesh safe for wildlife?
It's designed for bird control. Where flying foxes or reptiles may be present, a finer 5mm mesh is the recommended wildlife-safe option. Installing this net taut over a frame reduces entanglement risk.
Can I reuse it?
Yes. It can be fitted as a permanent cover or used as a drape-over net and taken down and reused each season.
