NPK 15-5-20 Fertiliser 9.5kg: High-Potassium Feed for Flowering & Fruiting Plants
NPK 15-5-20 is a high-potassium compound fertiliser made to support flowering, fruiting and overall plant strength. It contains 15% nitrogen (N), 5% phosphorus (P) and 20% potassium (K) by weight, a ratio that leans towards potassium, which is the nutrient most associated with fruit and flower quality. It suits a wide range of plants, including vegetables, fruit trees, and flowering ornamentals.
The balance of nutrients does specific jobs. The moderate nitrogen keeps foliage healthy and green without pushing so much leafy growth that it comes at the expense of flowers and fruit. The phosphorus supports roots and energy transfer, and the high potassium is the standout, it improves flower and fruit development, boosts fruit size, colour and sweetness, strengthens cell walls, and helps plants cope with heat, drought and disease.
Because of that high-K profile, 15-5-20 is especially well suited to fruiting vegetables like tomatoes and capsicums, fruit trees and vines such as citrus and grapes, and flowering plants that you want to bloom strongly.
How to Use
Broadcast the fertiliser evenly around the base of the plant, out to the root zone, following the rate suited to the plant type and its stage. Water in thoroughly after applying so the nutrients dissolve and reach the roots. Reapply every 4 to 6 weeks through the growing season, adjusting to the plant's needs. It's most useful from the onset of flowering through fruiting, when potassium demand is highest. Avoid over-applying, and keep granules off foliage and away from stems to prevent burn.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is NPK 15-5-20 used for?
It's a high-potassium fertiliser used to support flowering and fruiting. It suits fruiting vegetables, fruit trees, vines and flowering plants, where the extra potassium improves fruit and flower quality.
What does the 15-5-20 ratio mean?
It means the fertiliser contains 15% nitrogen, 5% phosphorus and 20% potassium by weight. The higher potassium figure makes it a "high-K" blend aimed at the flowering and fruiting stages.
Why is potassium important for plants?
Potassium improves fruit size, colour and sweetness, strengthens cell walls, regulates water use, and boosts a plant's resilience to heat, drought and disease. It's often called the "quality nutrient" for fruit and flowers.
How often should I apply it?
Apply every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season, watering in well after each application. It's most beneficial from the start of flowering through to fruiting.
Which plants benefit most from 15-5-20?
Fruiting vegetables like tomatoes and capsicums, fruit trees and vines such as citrus and grapes, and flowering ornamentals you want to bloom well. Leafy crops that mainly need nitrogen are better matched to a higher-N blend.
Can I use it on my whole garden?
Yes, it works as a general feed across many plants, but it really shines on flowering and fruiting crops. For lawns and leafy vegetables, a higher-nitrogen fertiliser may give better results.
What size does it come in?
It's supplied in a 9.5kg pack.
