Wooden Outdoor Storage Box Bench – 2 in 1 Garden Storage Bench Seat, Natural Fir Wood

Wooden Garden Storage Bench: Extra Seating and Hidden Storage in One

This 2 in 1 wooden storage bench gives you a place to sit and a place to put things away, all in one piece of outdoor furniture. Lift the hinged lid to store garden tools, cushions, kids' toys, pool gear or outdoor games, then close it to use the flat top as a bench seat. Made from natural fir wood with louvred side panels, it adds rustic charm to patios, verandahs, decks, entryways and even indoor spaces like mudrooms and sunrooms.

Tidy Away the Backyard Clutter

Outdoor areas fill up fast with hoses, gardening gloves, balls, buckets and cushions. A storage bench keeps them close to where you use them, but out of sight, so the patio looks tidy and guests have somewhere to sit. It's ideal beside the back door for shoes and umbrellas, next to the veggie patch for hand tools, or by the pool for towels and pool toys.

A Sturdy Seat as Well as a Box

The bench is built to be sat on, not just used as a box, with a maximum weight capacity of 200kg. The lid lifts on 304 stainless steel hinges, which resist rust better than standard steel hinges in outdoor conditions. The louvred slatted sides let air flow through the box, helping stored items dry out and reducing musty smells, while giving the bench its classic look.

How Much Can a Wooden Storage Bench Hold?

Storage capacity depends on the bench's internal dimensions. Wooden garden storage benches commonly range from around 100 litres for small entry benches to 400 litres or more for large deck boxes. This bench measures 101 x 45 x 45cm on the outside, which works out to roughly 200 litres of total box volume, with slightly less usable space inside once the timber panels and frame are taken into account. That's enough for a set of outdoor chair cushions, a collection of hand tools and gloves, or a load of kids' outdoor toys.

Care Tips for Outdoor Timber

Fir is a softwood that looks great outdoors with a little care. For the longest life, place the bench on a covered patio or verandah, or use a cover in heavy rain, and keep it off lawn and soil so the legs stay dry. Apply an outdoor timber oil or sealer before first use and once or twice a year after that to protect the wood from moisture and UV. Because the sides are louvred, rain can blow in during storms, so store items that must stay dry in sealed tubs inside the box.
