3 Piece Bronze Cast Aluminium Bistro Set – Antique Style Outdoor Table and 2 Chairs

Bronze Cast Aluminium Bistro Set: Old-World Style Without the Rust

This 3 piece bistro set brings the look of antique wrought iron to your balcony, courtyard or garden, finished in a warm bronze tone with highlights that bring out every curve of the Victorian-style scrollwork. The round table and two chairs are made from cast aluminium, so you get the heritage look without the heavy weight and rust problems of traditional iron. It's a lovely spot for morning coffee, a garden lunch for two or sunset drinks.

Why Cast Aluminium Beats Iron for Outdoor Furniture

Cast iron and wrought iron furniture look beautiful, but they're very heavy and rust quickly once the paint chips, leaving orange streaks on pavers and decks. Cast aluminium gives a similar detailed, solid look at a fraction of the weight, so it's easy to move around the garden. Aluminium doesn't rust like iron does, making it better suited to Australian weather, including humid and coastal areas. Combined with a powder-coated finish, it's a lower-maintenance choice for furniture that lives outdoors.

Warm Bronze Finish With Antique Detail

The bronze finish has a darker base with lighter, burnished highlights on the raised patterns, giving an aged, antique look that suits cottage gardens, Mediterranean courtyards, heritage homes and classic outdoor spaces. It hides dust and water marks better than white finishes and pairs beautifully with terracotta pots, climbing roses and green foliage.

Built for Everyday Use

Each chair supports up to 120kg and the table holds up to 30kg. Adjustable rubber feet help level the set on pavers, decking or slightly uneven ground, and a parasol hole in the table lets you add an umbrella for shade. The compact 58 x 60cm table suits smaller balconies and courtyards.

Does Bronze Cast Aluminium Furniture Rust Outside?

Aluminium doesn't rust the way iron and steel do, because it contains no iron. Over time, bare aluminium can develop a thin, dull white oxide layer, especially in coastal areas with salt air, but this doesn't weaken the furniture like rust does. The powder-coated bronze finish protects the aluminium from this, so the main thing to watch for is chips or scratches in the coating. Touching up chips promptly keeps the set protected and looking good.

How to Maintain an Antique Bronze Bistro Set

• Clean gently: wash with warm water, mild dish detergent and a soft cloth. Use a soft brush for the scrollwork.
• Rinse and dry: hose off and wipe dry to prevent water spots, especially after rain.
• Avoid harsh products: skip steel wool, abrasive pads and strong solvents, which can strip the bronze highlights.
• Protect the finish: a light coat of car wax once or twice a year helps water bead off and keeps the finish rich.
• Touch up chips: clean the spot and touch it up with a bronze outdoor metal paint.
• Cover in bad weather: use a furniture cover or store it under cover in long rainy spells, and rinse off salt spray in coastal areas.
