David Grays Dart Bindii & Broadleaf Lawn Weed Killer is a selective herbicide concentrate that targets weeds in turf while being safe on buffalo, couch and other common Australian lawns when used as directed.

The 1L twin-neck bottle has a built-in measuring chamber for easy, accurate dosing, and covers up to 2,000m² of lawn, enough for several treatments on an average home lawn or larger yards and acreage.

Dart controls a wide range of broadleaf weeds commonly found in Australian lawns, including bindii (jo-jo), white clover, dandelion, capeweed, creeping oxalis, cat's ear (flatweed), cudweed and plantain (lamb's tongue).

For bindii, spray while the weeds are young and actively growing, before they form their prickly seed heads. Treating early stops the prickles from spreading and keeps the lawn comfortable underfoot.

Buffalo Safe Lawn Weed Killer with up to 3 Months Residual

Dart combines three active ingredients. MCPA and clopyralid (Group 4) control existing weeds, while diflufenican (Group 12) provides a lasting effect for up to three months, helping prevent new broadleaf weeds from establishing.

It is safe on buffalo, couch, kikuyu, Queensland blue couch and carpet grass when used as directed. Kikuyu, Queensland blue couch and carpet grass may show some temporary discolouration after spraying. Smaller weeds respond faster, and complete weed death can take up to 6 weeks.

How to Use

1. Read the Label: Read the safety directions before opening. Wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves and goggles when mixing and spraying.
2. Check Conditions: Spray when turf and weeds are actively growing. Do not apply if the lawn or weeds are stressed, frost is imminent, or rain is expected within 4 hours. Avoid mowing for 3–4 days before treatment.
3. Measure the Dose: Squeeze the bottle to fill the measuring chamber with 50mL of Dart for every 100m² of lawn.
4. Mix with Water: Add the measured dose to your sprayer with the volume of water stated on the label, and mix well.
5. Spray Evenly: Apply an even spray over weed-affected lawn on a calm day, with a light breeze between 3 and 20km/h. Avoid drift onto garden beds, vegetables, ornamentals and trees.
6. After Spraying: Keep people and pets off the lawn until the spray has dried. Avoid mowing for 3–4 days after treatment, and do not use clippings from treated lawns as mulch or compost.
7. Be Patient: Smaller weeds die faster, but complete weed death can take up to 6 weeks. Avoid over-seeding treated areas for 3 months.
8. Store and Clean Up: Wash your hands after use and launder clothing after each day's use. Store in the closed original container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight.
