Allfarm Amprolium 200 is a soluble coccidiostat powder for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in poultry and pigeons. It's given through the drinking water and is suitable for broilers, broiler breeders, replacement pullets, turkeys, ducks and pigeons. Coccidiosis is one of the most important intestinal diseases of poultry, so having an effective, easy-to-use treatment on hand matters for any flock keeper.

The active constituent is amprolium hydrochloride (200g/kg). It aids in controlling the economically important coccidiosis species, including Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix and most strains of E. acervulina. Amprolium works by interfering with the coccidia's ability to take up thiamine (vitamin B1), which they need to multiply, so it starves the parasite while the bird's own immunity builds.

Dosage

• Prepare a fresh solution each day, and provide it as the only water source

• Premix the powder in a little water first, dissolve fully, then add to the rest of the water and mix well

How to Use

• Remove other water sources so the medicated water is the only water available

• Make up a fresh solution daily for the length of the course

• For prevention, repeat the 24-hour treatment every fourth day while infection risk is high (for example warm, damp conditions or after an outbreak)

• Keep housing clean and dry and remove damp, soiled litter, since coccidia thrive in wet conditions

• If there's no improvement within about 3 days, have the diagnosis confirmed and follow veterinary advice

Important Notes

• Do not give vitamin B1 (thiamine) supplements during treatment, as extra thiamine reduces how well amprolium works

• It's recommended to give a vitamin B1 supplement after the treatment course is finished

• Withholding periods: nil for both eggs and meat, and it's permitted for use in birds producing eggs
