Brunnings All Purpose NPK Fertiliser 3kg: Granular Plant Fertiliser for Flowers, Vegetables and Pots (7.8:3.8:9.6)

Brunnings All Purpose NPK Fertiliser: A Granular Garden Fertiliser for Indoors and Out

Brunnings All Purpose NPK Fertiliser is a granular all-purpose fertiliser that supplies plants with the three essential macronutrients: nitrogen for leaves and stems, phosphorus for roots and flowers, and potassium for overall health and fruit. With an analysis of 7.8:3.8:9.6 plus trace elements, it combines slow-release and fast-acting nutrients for a quick response and steady feeding. It suits flowers, vegetables, potted plants, shrubs and trees, indoors and outdoors. This 3kg tub is sized for regular feeding across a whole garden or through the full growing season.

What Do the NPK Numbers Mean?

• Nitrogen (N) 7.8: drives leafy growth and green colour.
• Phosphorus (P) 3.8: supports strong roots and flowering.
• Potassium (K) 9.6: helps flowering, fruiting, disease resistance and overall plant hardiness.

With potassium as the highest number, this NPK fertiliser suits plants grown for flowers and fruit, as well as general garden feeding. Trace elements help keep new growth healthy.

Slow Release and Fast Acting

Part of the nutrients dissolve quickly after watering, giving plants a fast boost, while the rest release gradually over the following weeks. That means fewer feeds than a liquid fertiliser and steadier growth than a quick-release product alone.

Gentle on Pots and Soil

Brunnings states the formula is chloride free, leaves little or no salt residue and is non-acidifying, so it won't change your soil pH with regular use. That makes it a practical plant fertiliser for potted plants and indoor plants, where salt build-up can damage roots. The free-flowing, low-dust granules are clean and easy to spread.

Fertiliser for Vegetables and Flowers

• Vegetables: feeds tomatoes, capsicums, leafy greens, beans and other crops through the growing season.
• Flowers: supports flowering in annuals, perennials, roses and flowering shrubs.
• Potted and indoor plants: a measured sprinkle on the potting mix surface, watered in.
• Shrubs and trees: spread around the root zone.

Which NPK Fertiliser Is Best?

It depends on what you're growing. A balanced all-purpose NPK with extra potassium, like this one, suits most flowers, vegetables and potted plants. Lawns and leafy plants benefit from higher nitrogen, while Australian natives need a low-phosphorus native fertiliser.

How to Use

• Sprinkle the granules evenly around the base of plants, keeping them off stems and trunks.
• For pots, sprinkle the recommended amount over the potting mix surface.
• Water in well straight after applying to start the nutrients releasing.
• Feed every 6 to 8 weeks during the active growing season, mainly spring and summer.
• Follow the rates on the tub. Over-applying can burn roots and leaves.

Not for Australian Natives

Don't use this fertiliser on phosphorus-sensitive Australian natives such as grevilleas, banksias and hakeas. Use a low-phosphorus native fertiliser for those plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Brunnings All Purpose NPK Fertiliser?

It's a granular all-purpose fertiliser with an NPK of 7.8:3.8:9.6 plus trace elements, combining slow-release and fast-acting nutrients for flowers, vegetables, pots, shrubs and trees.

What is the NPK ratio of Brunnings All Purpose NPK Fertiliser?

It's 7.8:3.8:9.6 (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), plus trace elements. The higher potassium supports flowering and fruiting.

Which NPK fertiliser is best?

The best NPK depends on the plant. A balanced all-purpose blend with extra potassium suits most flowers, vegetables and pots, higher nitrogen suits lawns and leafy plants, and natives need low phosphorus.

Which fertiliser is best for growing plants?

For most garden and potted plants, a balanced granular NPK fertiliser with trace elements gives steady growth, roots and flowers. Feed regularly through the growing season and water in after applying.

Is it a good fertiliser for vegetables?

Yes. It feeds vegetables through the growing season, and the higher potassium supports flowering and fruiting crops like tomatoes and capsicums.

How often should I apply it?

Every 6 to 8 weeks during the growing season, following the rates on the tub.

Can I use it on native plants?

No. It's not suitable for phosphorus-sensitive Australian natives. Use a low-phosphorus native fertiliser instead.
