Solar Icicle Curtain String Lights – Outdoor Christmas Eave and Fence Lights with 8 Modes

Solar Icicle Curtain Lights: Turn Your Eaves Into a Christmas Display

These solar icicle curtain lights hang along eaves, gutters, fences, balconies and pergolas, with strands of LEDs dropping down in staggered lengths to create a sparkling icicle effect. They're solar powered, so there's no need to run extension leads from inside or pay for power through the festive season. Choose warm white for a classic glow, cool white for a crisp icy look, or multicolour for a bright, playful display.

Staggered Drops for a Natural Icicle Look

The strands hang down in three different lengths, around 50cm, 60cm and 70cm, repeating along the main line. This uneven pattern mimics real icicles hanging from a roof edge and creates a layered curtain of light rather than a flat line. Along a verandah or fence, it frames the space and makes your home stand out from the street.

Solar Powered With Eight Modes

A solar panel charges the built-in battery during the day, and the lights switch on automatically at dusk, running for around 8 to 12 hours after a full charge. Choose from eight modes, including steady on, twinkle, fade and flash effects, to suit a quiet evening or a Christmas party. With an IP65 rating, the lights handle rain and summer storms, so they can stay up through the holiday season or all year for patio parties and events.

How to Hang Icicle Curtain Lights on a Patio or Fence

1. Measure first: measure the length of the eave, fence or railing, and check the lights plus the panel lead will reach a sunny spot.
2. Charge the panel: leave the solar panel in full sun for a day before first use.
3. Choose your fixings: use gutter clips, adhesive hooks, cable ties or small cup hooks spaced about 30 to 50cm apart. For timber fences, small screw-in hooks work well.
4. Hang the main line: start at the end closest to the solar panel and work along, keeping the top line straight and pulled gently taut.
5. Let the drops fall: straighten any twisted drops so they hang down evenly.
6. Place the panel: stake or mount the panel where it gets at least six hours of direct sun, ideally facing north, and not in the shadow of the roof.

Tips for the Brightest Display

Keep the solar panel clean and clear of shade for the strongest charge. On cloudy days, the lights will run for a shorter time. If you're hanging the lights on a south-facing or heavily shaded side of the house, mount the panel on a sunnier side and run the lead across. After the season, wind the lights loosely around a piece of cardboard to prevent tangles.
