Battery Operated Sprayer 16L – Electric Backpack Garden Sprayer with 12V Rechargeable Pump and 3 Nozzles

16L Battery Operated Backpack Sprayer for Gardens and Small Farms

This 16 litre battery operated sprayer is a backpack sprayer with a rechargeable battery and electric pump, so it builds and holds spray pressure without hand pumping. It comes with a spray lance and 3 nozzles, carries on padded shoulder straps, and suits spraying weeds, garden pests, fungal problems and liquid fertiliser around homes, market gardens, nurseries, greenhouses and small farms.

No More Hand Pumping

With a manual backpack sprayer, one arm is always working the pump handle, and pressure drops as soon as you stop. Here, the electric pump does that job. Switch it on and you can walk and spray with one hand on the lance, which makes long rows of fence line, driveways, paddock edges and garden beds much less tiring.

Steady Pressure for Even Coverage

Because the pump runs continuously, spray pressure stays steady from the start of the tank to the end. That gives a more consistent droplet size and coverage, so herbicides and insecticides go on more evenly and you are less likely to over or under apply in patches. Steady pressure also makes it easier to judge your walking speed for a consistent application rate.

A 16 Litre Tank on Your Back

The 16L tank holds enough mix for a decent stretch of spraying between refills, while still being manageable to carry when full. The sprayer weighs about 7.4kg empty, so a full tank is a real load, and the wide shoulder straps help spread that weight across your back.

Using and Caring for Your Sprayer

Charge the battery fully before first use. Always read the chemical label first and follow its mixing rate, safety directions and protective equipment requirements, including gloves, eye protection and long sleeves. Fill the tank with about half the water, add the measured chemical, then top up and mix. Spray on calm days with no rain forecast, keeping drift away from plants you want to keep, waterways and neighbouring properties. After each job, empty any leftover mix as the label directs, then rinse the tank, pump, hose and lance by spraying clean water through them. Recharge the battery after use and store the sprayer in a dry, shaded place, out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the battery last?
The supplier rates it at up to 8 hours per charge. Actual run time depends on the nozzle, pressure, battery age and temperature, so it is a good idea to recharge after each spraying session.

What can I spray with it?
It suits water-based herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and liquid fertilisers used around gardens and small farms. Always follow the product label for mixing rates and safety directions.

Is a battery sprayer better than a manual pump sprayer?
For larger areas, yes. The electric pump keeps steady pressure without hand pumping, which reduces fatigue and gives more even coverage. Manual sprayers suit small, quick jobs.

How do I clean it after spraying?
Empty the tank, rinse it with clean water, then spray clean water through the pump, hose and lance to flush out chemical residue. Clean the nozzles and let everything dry before storing.

Can I use one sprayer for weedkiller and insecticide?
It is safest to keep a separate sprayer for herbicides, as even small residues can damage plants when the sprayer is later used for insecticides or fertilisers.

Where can I buy a battery sprayer in Sydney?
This 16L battery operated sprayer is available from BPG Supplies, with local pickup from our store in Bonnyrigg in Sydney's south-west and delivery options across Australia shown at checkout.
