About Yara
Yara began in Norway in 1905, when its founders first produced mineral nitrogen fertiliser using hydroelectric power. Today Yara International is one of the world's largest fertiliser companies, headquartered in Oslo, with production and sales operations in more than 60 countries, including Australia.
Yara's product families include YaraMila compound fertilisers and YaraTera water-soluble fertilisers. Both are known for consistent quality, clean nutrient sources and clear analyses.
YaraMila Compound NPK Fertiliser
YaraMila Complex 12-5-15 is a premium compound NPK fertiliser with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in every prill, plus sulphur, magnesium and trace elements. Because every prill is identical, it never separates in the bag and spreads evenly by hand or spreader.
Its potassium comes from sulphate of potash, so it's low in chloride and suits sensitive crops such as tomatoes, citrus, grapes and avocados. Use it as a base fertiliser for vegetables, fruit trees, vines and lawns.
YaraTera Water-Soluble Fertilisers
YaraTera Calcinit (Calcium Nitrate)
YaraTera Calcinit is a fully soluble calcium nitrate with 15.5% nitrogen and 19% calcium. The calcium strengthens cell walls for firmer, longer-lasting fruit and helps prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes and capsicums, tip burn in lettuce and bitter pit in apples. It doesn't acidify the soil.
YaraTera Krista K Plus (Potassium Nitrate)
YaraTera Krista K Plus is a fully soluble potassium nitrate with 13.7% nitrate nitrogen and 38.4% potassium. It boosts fruit size, colour and sugar content from flowering to harvest, and it's free of chloride and sodium for sensitive and hydroponic crops.
Which Yara Fertiliser Do You Need?
-
Balanced base feed for soil: YaraMila Complex 12-5-15
-
Blossom end rot and calcium deficiency: YaraTera Calcinit
-
Flowering, fruit fill and fruit quality: YaraTera Krista K Plus
-
Fertigation and hydroponics: Calcinit and Krista K Plus together
Using Water-Soluble Fertilisers in Fertigation
Calcinit and Krista K Plus dissolve completely with no residue, so they won't block drippers or filters in your irrigation system. They're also easy to apply as a foliar spray through a garden sprayer.
Never mix calcium nitrate with sulphates or phosphates in a concentrated stock tank, as they form an insoluble sludge. In two-tank systems, keep Calcinit and Krista K Plus in Tank A, and phosphates and magnesium sources such as Epsom salts in Tank B.
Krista K Plus is a Class 5.1 oxidiser, so store it sealed, dry and away from fuels, timber and other combustible materials. Need something different? Browse our full range of garden fertilisers.

FAQs
What does YaraMila mean?
YaraMila is Yara's range of compound NPK fertilisers, where every granule contains the same balance of nutrients. YaraTera is Yara's range of fully water-soluble fertilisers for fertigation and hydroponics.
Why is YaraMila Complex labelled 12-5-15 in Australia?
Australian labels show phosphorus and potassium as elements. Overseas, the same product is often labelled 12-11-18, which uses oxide values (P₂O₅ and K₂O).
Does calcium nitrate fix blossom end rot?
Calcinit supplies readily available calcium, which helps prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes and capsicums. Even watering matters too, because irregular moisture stops calcium reaching the fruit.
Can I mix Calcinit and Krista K Plus together?
Yes. Calcium nitrate and potassium nitrate are compatible and are commonly mixed in the same stock tank. Just keep them separate from sulphate and phosphate fertilisers.
Are Yara fertilisers suitable for hydroponics?
Yes. YaraTera Calcinit and Krista K Plus are widely used in hydroponic and greenhouse nutrient solutions because they dissolve fully and are free of chloride and sodium.
