Description

Kitter Wood Pellet Cat Litter 15kg

Kitter Wood Pellet Cat Litter is a natural, highly absorbent alternative to clay and crystal litter. Made from renewable plantation timber with no added chemicals or additives, the pellets quickly soak up urine and help control the ammonia smell that can develop in a used litter tray.

One kilogram of Kitter can absorb more than three litres of odour-causing liquid. It works in any standard litter tray, but using it with a two-piece sieve tray allows the wet, broken-down litter to fall into the lower section while clean pellets remain on top.

Why Wood Pellet Litter

Kitter pellets absorb liquid quickly and gradually break down as they become wet. The natural wood scent and oils help reduce odour, while the firm dry pellets are less likely to create the fine dust associated with some traditional cat litters.

The litter is biodegradable and made from by-products of locally grown plantation timber. This gives Australian cat owners a practical option for reducing their use of mineral-based litter without adding fragrances or chemical deodorisers.

How to Use

Kitter can be used in a standard one-piece litter tray or a two-piece sieve tray.

For a standard litter tray:

  • Fill the clean tray with approximately 3cm of Kitter pellets

  • Scoop out solid waste every day

  • Remove wet, broken-down litter regularly

  • Add fresh pellets when required

  • Clean the entire tray and replace the litter as needed

For a two-piece sieve tray:

  • Place two to three handfuls of litter in the bottom section

  • Add approximately 2cm of pellets above the sieve

  • Shake the tray regularly so wet litter falls into the base

  • Scoop out solid waste daily

  • Remove wet litter from the lower tray as required

  • Replace only the used litter rather than emptying all the clean pellets

Kitter recommends cleaning the complete sieve tray and replacing all litter every two to three weeks, or more frequently where required.

Changing Your Cat to Kitter

Some cats may hesitate when the texture or smell of their litter changes. To make the transition easier, sprinkle a small amount of the cat’s previous litter over the top of Kitter for a short period.

Gradually reduce the old litter as your cat becomes familiar with the wood pellets. Keep the tray in its usual location and make sure it remains clean during the change.

Composting & Garden Use

Used Kitter litter is biodegradable and can be composted or applied to lawns and ornamental garden beds according to the manufacturer’s directions.

  • Wear gloves when handling soiled litter

  • Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards

  • Do not use soiled cat litter in vegetable gardens

  • Keep it away from areas used to grow edible plants

  • Follow your local council’s waste and composting requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kitter Wood Pellet Cat Litter made from?

Kitter is made from natural wood sourced from renewable plantation timber. The manufacturer states that it contains no added chemicals or additives.

How absorbent is Kitter Cat Litter?

One kilogram of Kitter can absorb more than three litres of odour-causing liquid, making the 15kg bag suitable for regular household use.

Does Kitter Wood Pellet Cat Litter clump?

No. Kitter is a non-clumping wood pellet litter. Wet pellets absorb the liquid and break down, allowing the used material to be removed or sifted into the lower section of a sieve tray.

Can I use Kitter in a normal litter tray?

Yes. Fill a clean standard tray with approximately 3cm of pellets, remove solid waste daily and replace wet or broken-down litter as required.

Do I need a sieve litter tray?

No. Kitter works in any litter tray. However, a two-piece sieve tray can make the litter last longer because only wet litter falls into the bottom section and needs replacing.

How do I introduce my cat to wood pellet litter?

Sprinkle some of your cat’s previous litter over the Kitter pellets for a short period. Gradually reduce the old litter once the cat begins using the new litter confidently.

How often should I clean the litter tray?

Remove solid waste every day and replace wet litter regularly. The manufacturer recommends fully cleaning a two-piece tray and replacing all litter every two to three weeks, or sooner when needed.

Can used Kitter litter be composted?

Yes. The manufacturer describes Kitter as biodegradable and suitable for composting, lawns and ornamental garden beds. Wear gloves, wash your hands afterwards and do not use it in vegetable gardens.

Is Kitter Cat Litter Australian made?

Kitter is an Australian-owned business, and its wood raw materials are sourced from by-products of locally grown plantation pine timber.

What size is this bag?

This product is supplied in a 15kg bag, suited to regular use, multi-cat households and owners using a two-piece sieve litter system.
