Yates Zero Weedkiller is a ready-to-use, non-selective weedkiller that controls a broad range of grasses and broadleaf weeds, roots and all. The active constituent is glyphosate at 7.2g/L, and it comes in a 750ml trigger pack, so there's no mixing or measuring, just point and spray. It's a handy size for spot-treating and clearing weeds around the home and garden.

How It Works

The glyphosate is absorbed through the leaves and translocated down into the roots, so it destroys the whole weed rather than just burning off the top. First you'll see a gradual yellowing and wilting, which advances to complete browning and death of the plant and its roots over a couple of weeks. It's non-residual, meaning it isn't active in the soil, so once the weeds are gone you can replant the treated area.

How to Use

Spray the foliage of actively growing weeds until the leaves are just wet, ideally when the soil is moist and the weeds are growing strongly. Avoid spraying to the point of run-off. First symptoms show as yellowing within days, with full die-off over about 1 to 2 weeks. Repeat the treatment for tougher perennial weeds, and for onion weed and oxalis, spray when they're flowering. Take care not to let the spray drift onto plants, lawns or grass you want to keep, since it will kill them too.

This is a herbicide, marked Caution (Schedule 5). Wear gloves and avoid contact with skin and eyes, and wash your hands and any exposed skin after use.
