Searles Sun or Shade Lawn Seed is a premium lawn seed blend that is ideally suited for most lawns, including those that receive a mix of sun and shade. It is a low-maintenance lawn seed that is fast-establishing and hard-wearing.
The blend contains a mix of grass varieties that are tolerant of a wide range of conditions, including:
- Annual ryegrass
- Turf ryegrass
- Hulled couch
- Unhulled couch
- Creeping red fescue
- Turf type fescue
This mix of grasses ensures that your lawn will have a deep green colour and will be able to withstand a high level of traffic.
Searles Sun or Shade Lawn Seed is best sown in autumn or spring, when the soil temperature is between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius. The sowing rate is 750g per 25 square metres.
To sow the lawn seed, simply prepare the soil by removing any weeds or debris. Then, spread the seed evenly over the area and lightly rake it in. Water the area well and keep it moist until the grass germinates, which should take 7-14 days.
Once the grass has germinated, water it regularly, especially during the first few weeks. Fertilise the lawn every 6-8 weeks with a lawn fertiliser to keep it looking its best.
