Vetsense Kilverm 1L Sheep & Cattle Oral Drench: Levamisole Wormer for Roundworm and Lungworm
Vetsense Kilverm is a ready-to-use oral drench for controlling roundworms and lungworm in sheep and cattle. The active is levamisole (32g/L levamisole hydrochloride, equivalent to 27g/L levamisole), a member of the imidazothiazole or "clear" group of drenches. It comes ready to use with no mixing, stirring or shaking, and flows through standard automatic drenching guns.
Kilverm controls levamisole-susceptible strains of the major production-limiting worms in sheep and cattle. Rotating drench groups is an important part of managing resistance, and being a clear (levamisole) drench, Kilverm has a place in that rotation alongside other chemical groups.
Because worm burdens hit growth, condition and productivity across a mob, routine, well-timed drenching to the correct weight is what keeps stock performing. Kilverm is a straightforward, cost-effective option for that job.
Worms Controlled
Levamisole-susceptible strains of:
-
Barber's pole worm (Haemonchus spp), mature and immature
-
Black scour worm (Trichostrongylus spp)
-
Stomach hairworm (Trichostrongylus axei)

Small intestinal worm (Cooperia spp)
-
Thin necked intestinal worm (Nematodirus spp)
-
Hookworm (Bunostomum spp)
-
Nodule and large bowel worm (Oesophagostomum spp), and Strongyloides

Weigh the heaviest animal and dose the mob to that weight within each group (ewes, rams, lambs; or cows, bulls, calves)

Do not underdose, as underdosing reduces effectiveness and encourages resistance
How to Use
-
Check the accuracy of your drenching equipment before and during drenching
-
Give as a single oral drench at the rate for the animal's weight
-
Ensure animals have access to water before drenching, and avoid yarding stock off feed overnight
-
Wash out drenching equipment with water after use
Important Notes
-
Do not use in dogs or horses
-
Take care handling weak, young or pregnant animals to avoid stress; brief "friskiness" may be seen shortly after treatment in some animals
-
Do not exceed the recommended dose except under veterinary supervision
-
Resistance can develop to any drench, so a resistance test and a local drenching program planned with your vet are recommended
-
Always read and follow the label directions before use
