Description

Manutec Iron Chelate 300g

Manutec Iron Chelate is a soluble trace-element fertiliser formulated to correct iron deficiency in garden plants. It supplies iron in an EDTA-chelated form that plants can absorb more readily than ordinary, unchelated iron sources.

The product is suitable for lawns, vegetables, fruit plants, flowers, roses, shrubs and ornamental garden plants. It can be mixed with water and applied as either a foliar spray or soil treatment according to the directions on the packaging.

Identifying Iron Deficiency

Iron is required for chlorophyll production and healthy green growth. Deficiency symptoms usually appear first on young or newly developing leaves.

Common symptoms include:

  • Yellowing between the leaf veins

  • Veins remaining greener than surrounding tissue

  • Pale or weak new growth

  • Reduced or stunted plant development

Older leaves may remain greener while the newest growth becomes increasingly yellow. Because other nutrient, watering and root problems can cause similar symptoms, identify the likely cause before applying a corrective product.

Why Use Chelated Iron?

Chelation helps keep iron in a soluble form that is more readily available to plants.

Manutec Iron Chelate is particularly useful where iron has become unavailable because of alkaline soil conditions. Very high soil pH may continue to restrict nutrient uptake, so correcting the underlying soil condition can improve longer-term results.

How to Use

Dissolve the required quantity in water and apply strictly according to the rates and instructions printed on the product packaging.

Foliar Application

A foliar spray applies the diluted solution directly to plant leaves for faster access to the iron.

  • Mix only at the labelled rate

  • Spray the affected foliage evenly

  • Avoid applying during very hot conditions

  • Do not spray stressed or wilted plants

  • Avoid excessive runoff from the leaves

  • Repeat only as directed on the label

Soil Application

The diluted solution may also be applied around the plant’s active root zone.

  • Apply to moist soil around the roots

  • Spread the solution evenly

  • Avoid concentrating it directly against stems or trunks

  • Water appropriately after treatment where directed

  • Address highly alkaline soil for better long-term nutrient availability

Important Application Advice

More product will not necessarily produce faster results. Excessive iron application may damage plants, stain hard surfaces or create nutrient imbalances.

  • Always follow the package directions

  • Do not exceed the recommended rate

  • Avoid spray drift onto paving and masonry

  • Wear gloves while mixing and applying

  • Prevent contact with eyes and skin

  • Keep the product away from waterways and drains

  • Wash hands after use

Storage

  • Keep the product in its original packaging

  • Store in a cool and dry location

  • Protect the powder from moisture

  • Avoid extreme temperatures

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets

  • Seal the package securely after use

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Manutec Iron Chelate used for?

It is used to correct iron deficiency in plants, particularly when young leaves become yellow between the veins while the veins remain green.

What type of iron does it contain?

The product contains 13.2% iron in an EDTA-chelated form.

Which plants can be treated?

It is suitable for lawns, fruit plants, vegetables, flowers, roses, shrubs and ornamental garden plants.

Can it be sprayed onto leaves?

Yes. Manutec Iron Chelate can be diluted and applied as a foliar spray according to the package directions.

Can it be applied to the soil?

Yes. The diluted product can be applied around the plant’s root zone at the labelled rate.

Does it work in alkaline soil?

It is formulated to help correct iron deficiency associated with alkaline conditions. However, very high soil pH may continue to restrict iron uptake, so improving the soil pH can support longer-term results.

How quickly will yellow leaves become green?

The response time depends on the severity of the deficiency, plant health, weather, soil pH and application method. New growth is generally the best area to monitor after treatment.

Should I apply it whenever leaves turn yellow?

Not automatically. Yellow foliage can also result from overwatering, poor drainage, root damage or other nutrient deficiencies. Look for the typical pattern of yellow young leaves with greener veins.

Is Manutec Iron Chelate a complete fertiliser?

No. It is a corrective iron supplement rather than a complete fertiliser containing all essential plant nutrients.

Where can I buy Manutec Iron Chelate in Sydney?

Manutec Iron Chelate 300g is available from Bonnyrigg Produce & Garden Supplies in Bonnyrigg, South-West Sydney.
