How to Use

Select healthy end growth and either cut it on an angle or take a cutting with a heel that's been pulled from the parent branch. Cuttings should be 50mm to 150mm long, with the bottom leaves removed. Place freshly cut material straight into water, then dip the moistened base into the powder and plant it as soon as possible.

Use a free-draining, light rooting medium. A mix of peat moss and sand is the most common choice, though free-draining sandy loam or garden soil that isn't compacted can also work.

Winter-flowering shrubs such as camellia and daphne are usually ready to propagate from new wood around December.
