Talstar 250 EC is a broad-spectrum agricultural insecticide and miticide from FMC, supplied as a 5 litre emulsifiable concentrate. The active constituent is 250g/L bifenthrin, a Group 3A pyrethroid, in a hydrocarbon liquid solvent. It works on contact and as a residual, controlling a wide range of insect pests and mites across many registered crops when used according to the label.

It can be used as a knockdown treatment on existing pests or as a protective treatment applied at intervals, and gives the best results when applied before pest numbers build to damaging levels.

This is a Schedule 6 poison and is classified as a dangerous good. It is toxic and an irritant, and is a pyrethroid pesticide. Wear the protective equipment specified on the label, including suitable gloves, eye protection and protective clothing, and launder clothing after each day's use. It is dangerous to fish and aquatic organisms, so do not contaminate dams, streams or waterways, and it is dangerous to bees, so do not spray plants in flower while bees are foraging. Do not burn empty containers. Store it in the closed original container, away from children, food and feed. If poisoning occurs, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26.
